A great conversation starter! Let's talk about one of the most powerful and yet incredibly sad issues of our time: Narcissism. Keeping our "head in the sand" does not diminish the reality of "power over" and abuse. Secrecy only exacerbates the problem and diminishes the desperate need we all have to be understood, feel safe, and be cherished.

From Patti DiMiceli, the designer: "On the front is a 1910 silhouette that immediately caught my eye to use as an illustration of breaking free from the bonds of the narcissist. 'This looks like how I feel!' I added the beautiful blue energy that occurred when I cut the ties. And now I am 'Free to BE!' All I want is to simply 'Be' without drama, trauma, or needless distress.

The back contains a 'Cliff's Notes' version of the 'Narcissist's Playbook.' It's a gentle, unique way for me to educate one other person...to hopefully save them from a bit of the pain and torment I have endured.

This is something I wish I'd seen in my teens. It's a graphically pleasing, easy-to-understand, simple guide to the Phases, Behaviors, Characteristics, etc. of a narcissist. Each of us is unique, yes. And, some of us follow patterns of behavior that, like a red flag, can be spotted from a distance and scream 'Danger!'

About the artist: Patti DiMiceli was born and raised in the City of Angels, Los Angeles, California. After coming to the East Coast, she lived aboard a sailboat for several years and landed in Annapolis in 1986. The charm, the people, and the culture of the city captured her heart and she stayed.
